GEORGINE SS17 collection at NYFW

Katia Teirstein

Once again, we were absolutely floored by the latest work of firm client GEORGINE, whose Spring-Summer 2017 collection was recently shown at New York Fashion Week.

Georgine Ratelband is the creative force behind the fashion label "GEORGINE." A native of the Netherlands and raised in Belgium, Georgine has traveled the world for the inspiration that is infused into her womenswear collections. Our office successfully secured an EB-1A Green Card for Georgine earlier this year based on her extraordinary ability in the arts.

Georgine is probably most known for her unexpected and playful mix of textures and fabrics, as well as her sophisticated silhouettes and unique artistic direction. Her latest collection had a grunge/punk theme running throughout, complete with spider web embellishing, D-ring back pieces, and safety pin details. It wouldn't be Georgine without her trademark use of fur, which she incorporated into scarves and heart shaped fur handbags.

Growing up in Seattle in the 1990's, Jasmine and I felt right at home with the soundtrack and punk influence of the collection. There was a time in my life that I donned safety pinned accessories and even green hair (I miss my green hair!)... now only to see the look of our youth (albeit a much more sophisticated version) walk down the runway at the most premiere fashion event in the world. Funny how cyclical fashion can be!

Unsurprisingly, the show is already receiving rave reviews, even called "the one brand you should remember from Fashion Week" by the New York Post.

Congratulations again, Georgine and team! Your work continues to amaze and inspire us.
